Sustainable Impact

Solar
   •
2011 - first installation under the Green Energy Act in Ontario
   •
2011 to 2018 – installations totaling 4 rooftop sites in Ontario and 6 individual ground mount systems.
   •
2022 - largest installation to date in Alberta, supports the Energy Savings for Business Program.
   •
National network capacity = 2.7 Megawatts producing 2,292,000 kw a year
   •
2023– planned installations of rooftop solar at 2 additional Ontario facilities under a net metering agreement with Hydro One

Demand Response
   •   We participate in the
Demand Response Program in both Ontario and Alberta across 6 sites.
   •   This supplies grid support in times of high demand or low supply when delivery of required power across the grid is at risk.
   •
Trenton Cold Storage is a good candidate for this program. Our company has the ability to collectively drop high levels of instantaneous demand quickly to assist with grid stability.
   •   These events are triggered by the
IESO or the AESO and the sites respond as needed. In Ontario the events are 4 hours in length. In Alberta they are variable in length, but much shorter and much more frequent. Alberta events are typically 10-45 minutes.
   •   Collectively, we shed
1.9 MegaWatts of demand at these sites if needed.

Industrial Conservation Initiative

   •   In Ontario we participate in this program at 3 sites. Participants shed power at their discretion at peak times during the year typically between June and September.
   •   This assists
Independent Energy System Operator (IESO) in maintaining grid stability.
